I have been encouraged by receiving a bible verse every morning when I wake up.

I have a very long list of all the verses that have stood out to me!

I think that perhaps sometimes the verses are from an older version of the bible, which confuses my understanding, but that may be as I am only seventeen.

I love the fact that I'm also helping those in poverty - even though it's not a lot I know it's going to help someone somewhere.

I usually receive my daily verse on a schools contract run. Both my escort and I make good use of our mobiles but as a Christian I had become increasingly disturbed by the number of

times she was using her text messaging to pass on vulgar 'jokes'.  Eventually I decided to tell her of my sadness and say that for me a text is a portion of God's Word and her texts were just the opposite!

At the time I knew nothing about TxtaVerse but felt the need for a daily Bible text service.

I shared this with a Christian friend, who one week later was told about TxtaVerse .  God's timing!  And she soon had me linked into TxtaVerse.

My escort who has no interest in Christian matters, became fascinated with my daily "message from God" and at the same time I noticed that she had stopped using her mobile to pass on rude jokes.

Because of the regulations regarding the use of mobiles whilst driving I have been in the habit of asking my escort to take my incoming calls whilst I am driving. In this way, she is reading a portion of Scripture each day, which is quite miraculous.

About a month or so ago, we were on the road early in the morning when my text message

came through.  At the very same moment, a car pulled out in front of us and I had to break sharply.  Had I not been fully concentrating we may well have collided, but we continued safely on our way. My escort then read out the text which, if I remember correctly, was:

"The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and evermore." Psalm121:7-8

After reading the text my escort remarked, " Well, God is certainly looking after you, isn't He!".

I have been receiving Bible verses on my mobile since August and now very much look forward to the text alert tone sounding the arrival of the morning word of scripture to add focus to the day. 

The timing is good - normally during breakfast and while assessing the tasks for the day, but just at the moment I'm working in South Africa and the verse arrives two hours later just as the working day is getting underway. A timely reminder of the spiritual dimension to life...

A verse that was sent recently seemed particularly appropriate-

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that.. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" - Colossians3:23

It is particularly satisfying that part of the payment for the service will be going towards helping combat poverty through well respected partner organisations.

I want to say a huge thankyou for the service... everyday i look forward to getting a verse and it is amazing how often the verse will speak specifically into my situation at that minute and i reflect on it later on in the day. The really good verses i save on my phone - they are an encouragement to reflect on later on in the week as well... thanks so much!

I like the fact that on the train in the morning there is a reminder of my salvation in a verse on the phone.  Sometimes if it is impactful I will keep it and I have so me stored on my mobile as a result:

Jabez' prayer:

"Oh, that you would bless me & enlarge my territory!

Let your hand be with me, & keep me from harm.."

And God granted his request -1Chronicles4:10

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve..

But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord -Joshua24:15

Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it - Malachi3:10

This is what the LORD says:

or the rich man boast of his riches - Jeremiah 9:23

I am surprised you have not used more Proverbs?  In all I am loving it and telling others so thanks for the service and for being able to do this for the benefit of others as well

Many thanks for sending the daily verses.  Whilst I enjoy my own regular bible study, it is great to have texts that come 'out of the blue' to encourage or spur on in the Christian path. I occasionally forward the texts to friends, who have found them very encouraging - with the hope that they will sign up themselves.  One such person received it as he was looking through his bible for a verse-for-the-day - he said it was very appropriate for him.

I am glad for the money that is going to good causes and would be interested to have an idea of how much is being sent and to whom.

I love getting text a verse every day it reminds me that god is very near, and is a nice way to start the day. Unfortunately all my friends think it sad, so there is no hope of signing them up. Oh well, their loss. I liked the behold i stand at the door an knock verse, as the light of the world is my favourite painting.

I will be putting postcards on our table at school, will also tell every1 at church about it!

Could you please pray for our C.U as we were going to sing some carols in a foyer concert (i go to a performing arts school and it is very mad, trust me!) but a teacher has said we cannot do it as it is unappropriate because of the other religions in our school! (Crazy huh! CHRISTmas duh!!!)

Anyways were going to give out sweets and why-jesus books and i may even bake cookies and cakes! lucky school!?! so cld u pray that we do get to sing and if they still don't let
us that the sweets etc goes well! hopefully some ppl will learn the real reason of the season!

I think the txts are great, its a really great way to start my day.

Its useful cos sometimes when you pick up the bible you don't know where to look, but these messages are totally God guided and influence my thoughts throughout the day!

I also signed up for my non-christian friend to receive them, she likes them too!  She is receiving Gods word everyday and thats excellent!   I had recently been thinking about my money (or Gods money shld i say) and who i shld be giving it to, then i saw this and thought it was a great idea because

1) i get something in return.

2) it gives me opportunities to talk to my friend. and

3) my money is being used wisely!

i think it is a wicked idea and will tell everyone about it!

I run the CU at my school so if you have any posters, postcards etc that i cld put up, give out, i wld love to so please send them to me!!!

A bit of feedback: The texting is great - it has really spoken to me and the timing has been quite amazing.

On the whole, I think this is a fantastic concept -and realise that it is still in its infancy.
